In Czech Republic, St. Martin's day on 11/11 is vaguely what we get to celebrate instead of american Thanksgiving, I think. Usually considered the first winter day, since the first snow usually falls quite close to St.Martin's day, it is said that St. Martin arrived on a white horse when it snows on his day. The traditional meal for the day is a roasted goose with red cabbage and dumplings. Since my friend Amy happened to be in the town for the day, we decided to meet up!
Headbow: BtSSB
JSK: BtSSB
Blouse: Anna House
Shoes: An*Tai*Na
I went with heavier winter dress in navy. Amy took out her Angelic Pretty's Halloween Treats JSK. It's so cute! We took a stroll through the city's center, togeher with her man and a really cute black dog :) The dog even has it's own instagram, but I forgot to take a picture of her!
We sat down in a restautant for some refreshment, which turned out to be more funny than expected! Confused goose in confused. I guess they meant confitted?
Oooh, this is interesting. In Poznań, where I'm from in Poland, St. Martin's Day 11/11 is celebrated with horseshoe-shaped croissant-type baked goods full of poppyseed filling because the legend goes that as St Martin was travelling through Poznań, his horse lost a shoe there. No-one else in the rest of Poland does anything for that, since 11/11 is also Polish Independence Day, but all the bakers in Poznań make a tonne of money on that one day. So it's interesting to track his travels further down and track another related tradition. :D Also, that's such a beautiful dress, I really like your simple coord, it lets all the details really stand out.
